Rootstock and scion preparation


* Two Citrus limon seedling rootstocks, 5/6 years old.
Stem (graft) from a grafted Citrus limon bearing a lot of fruit. The shoot is said to be "aouté", i.e. one year old.

Grafting is carried out at the end of May, with the sap rising.

Grafting

The trunk of the rootstock is incised to receive the scion (fig. 3).
The scion is taken from the branch (graft), (fig. 4).
Insertion of the scion under the bark of the trunk (fig. 5), with only the base of the petiole protruding.
Tying of the scion (fig. 6) with grafting tape.
